| I've been telling everyone how gorgeous it is here in Albuquerque and have been trying to get some good pics of the scenery here. I just have crappy luck finding a good vantage without climbing the mountain, but here are a few I took recently.
Monday evening sunset as seen from the apartment. View of the Sandias from the apartment. The range is called The 'Sandias' because during the day the apparent color of the stone changes color, and in the evening it resembles watermelon pink. 'Sandia' is the spanish word for watermelon. View from the gamecenter. Sunday the sunset was very nice, all glowy orange. The mountains again. This was taken heading east towards home. The mountains are impossible to miss, and I keep getting surprised by them. I am so used to flat, gentle slopes! (Please note the gorgeous blue sky!) Another sunset. Not all the sunsets here are spectacular, but they have all been beautiful. This was taken from a parking lot farther up the hill.
Also, I am a dork. I ate a watermelon lately, and decided to try and grow my own from the seeds. I have no idea if they'll even put out fruit, but they seem to be doing fine so far. Number 1 there sprouted Saturday, 2, 3, and 4 on Sunday, 5, 6, and 7 yesterday, and 8, 9, and 10 (he's hiding) are new this morning. I'm going to try and train a few of the strongest sprouts up on a trellis of some sort and grow them against the wall since I have no garden area. If melons forn, I'm going to tie bags of nylon stocking around them to support them. Wish me luck!

| Just wanted to share yesterday's front-page news with everyone...
http://www.abqtrib.com/albq/nw_local/article/0,2564,ALBQ_19858_4771110,00.html
We knew the guy from the paper was doing a piece on gaming centers, but didn't think it would get the front page!

| I finally did it! Yesterday at approximately 9pm, I graduated from
Texas A&M University. It's taken me a while, but with tons of
support from my parents, my best friend, and the best guy ever, I made
it!
My parents got me a huge graduation present, a new truck! It's a
little silver Nissan Frontier, and I love it! I've never had a new
vehicle or a truck before, so I'm all excited. I keep bouncing at
random. *grin*

I hope everyone who reads this has had a great year so far. I definately have! It's not even over yet, I move to Albuquerque soon. Assuming I can get all my junk packed, anyway! I'll keep all my internet contact info the same, with the addition of a new e-mail address: aj-bio-env@aggienetwork.com.
I'll be moving out of College Station (and Texas) in less than a week. Wow, I've been in this town for so long that moving is kinda unreal. I'm excited to be moving, but nervous too.
Wish me luck!

| I had some weird dreams last night/this morning... I kept waking up and going back to sleep, trying to get rid of a headache.
Once, I woke up after having a dream where I was driving with a friend (an old roommate who has since graduated), crossing a field along a road that was cramped with parked cars on the shoulders. Parts of the road were covered in shallow water so I rally had to pay attention to the conditions and occasional oncoming traffic.
All along the road, in amongst the stopped cars, were huge circus animals, just roaming free. Huge white lions striped with black, an elephant, other big cats. Once, a rhino that I think someone shot because it fell over.
The whole time, I'm telling my friend to get my camera out of my purse and take some pictures since I can't really see everything, but she doesn't do it. The drive continues for a bit, and then I wake up again.
I must have not been sleeping very deeply because I had several other odd dreams. I can't really remember them well. If I do, I'll update I guess.
Oh, I had another dream where I couldn't get anything in focus; my eyes would just not work right. I'm not sure if I couldn't keep them open or what, but it was annoying. I've had similar dreams before, and every time I wonder what they mean. | | |
| How come it is cheaper to fly from Albuquerque to Dallas with a stopover in Houston than it is from Albuquerque straight to Houston?
I am so confused.
